Did You Know: Order of the Golden Heart

The Order of the Golden Heart is an award conferred on individuals or organizations, whether Filipino or of foreign nationality, who have rendered distinguished service or given noteworthy monetary or other material aid, encouragement and volunteerism for the improvement of the Filipino masses’ social, economic and moral condition.

The award was instituted by President Ramon Magsaysay on June 21, 1954, through Executive Order No. 40-A.

So far, there have been at least 86 recipients of the award. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
