DAVAO CITY, Philippines—Satur Apoyon, a former Davao City bureau chief of the Philippine News Agency, was found dead in Governor Generoso town in Davao Oriental on Tuesday.
Apoyon, 75, was reported missing in Davao City since Thursday last week.
The cause of his death remains unclear. His body was found floating in the sea off the coast of Governor Generoso.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said Apoyon’s body will be transported to the city.
