3.9 quake hits off Davao Oriental
A 3.9 magnitude earthquake struck off Governor Generoso town in Davao Oriental at 9:52 a.m. Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.
The undersea quake centered 190 kilometers southeast of the Governor Generoso at a depth of 131 kilometers.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
