The province of Zamboanga del Norte celebrates the festival of Saulog, which means thanksgiving. Activities include band concerts, cultural presentation, beauty pageant and a series of sports competitions such as badminton, football, bike race, motocross and frisbee.

The kickoff of “Baragatan” or convergence is held in Puerto Princesa City in Palawan province. Events leading up to the festival proper on June 16 include an agrotrade fair, a garden show, a photo exhibit and photo tourism and art exhibit as well as painting contest.
