Sen. Enrile’s ‘grandson’ robbed by cabbie in QC

MANILA, Philippines—A man who introduced himself as a grandson of Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile told authorities he was robbed by a cabbie Monday morning in Quezon City.

The complainant, Achilles Ponce Enrile, 32, said he was victimized by the driver of the taxi he was riding in around 8:15 a.m. in front of the SM City Annex in Barangay (village) Bago Bantay.

The victim recalled that the taxi’s license plate was either TXB 143 or TXB 148.

Among the stolen items were a platinum wedding ring worth around P90,000, a Blackberry mobile phone, an iPad, a green Lacoste wallet containing P4,700 in cash, ATM cards, credit cards, a local driver’s license and a California driver’s license.
