Coding scheme automatically lifted on National Holidays—MMDA

MANILA, Philippines—The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Monday that the number coding scheme is automatically lifted in Metro Manila whenever the country observes a national holiday.

MMDA mentioned in its twitter account that the rule includes the cities of Makati and Las Piñas.

“No exceptions,” it said.

November 7 was declared a regular National Holiday as the country marks Eid’l Adha (The Feast of Sacrifice).

The coding scheme bars vehicles from major thoroughfares in Metro Manila, depending on the last digit of their plate numbers.

On regular days, the scheme does not allow vehicles with plate numbers ending in 1 or 2 every Monday along major thoroughfares from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
