Man killed, 3 others hurt in Pangasinan road accident

DAGUPAN CITY — A 52-year-old man was killed while three others, including a 5-year-old girl, were hurt Saturday in a road accident at Santa Maria town in Pangasinan province.

Julio Queliza was driving a motorcycle with three backriders through the road connecting Santa Maria and Rosales towns at 4:15 p.m. when a van struck his rear.

The impact forced the motorcycle to crash, throwing Queliza and his three backriders, Norma Gazmen, 69, Emily Baltazar, 49, and 5-year-old Jewel Queliza.

They were taken to a hospital in Tayug town for treatment but Queliza died more than three hours later.

The van’s driver, Joel Ronquillo, 37, was arrested. CBB/rga
