Lubi Festival

Coconut or lubi, the main source of livelihood of residents of Maria in Siquijor province, is celebrated during the annual festival. A dance parade features the process of harvesting coconut. Trade fairs and bazaars are also held to promote various coconut products.

Guihulugan Festival

The people of Guihulngan in Negros Oriental province commemorates the big bell by the sea that hundreds of years ago was used to warn the town of approaching pirates. But the pirates were able to steal the bell and drop it into the Tañon Strait. Activities include a mardi gras that remembers the lost treasure as well as street bazaars, concerts and agri-fairs.

Pintos Festival

The town of Bogo in Cebu province showcases its famous delicacy made from ground corn known as pintos. Most of Bogo’s lands are dedicated to agriculture, which mainly produces corn. The festival, which coincides with the town fiesta in honor of patron saint Vicente Ferrer, also features a street dancing competition.
