Holy Week traffic light along TPLEx on Wednesday
DAGUPAN CITY — The volume of vehicles traversing the northbound lane of the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx) increased on Wednesday (April 12) as travelers from Metro Manila started heading to the Ilocos provinces and Baguio City for the Holy Week.
But traffic remained light along the 68-kilometer section of the expressway from Tarlac City in Tarlac province to Binalonan town in Pangasinan province, said Tony Reyes, TPLEx marketing chief.
“Traffic still normal, with volume but still light,” Reyes said in a text message. “Expected to increase later this afternoon.”
A 4:30 p.m. tweet from the Tollways Regulatory Board, a government agency that supervises, monitors and regulates the country’s tollways, confirmed that the volume of vehicles in TPLEx toll plazas was still light.
TRB said 8 to 9 vehicles were queued in each of its four northbound lanes at the Tarlac City toll plaza, while traffic was light at the Urdaneta City and Binalonan exits. –Gabriel Cardinoza /atm
