Former Pangasinan village chief shot dead

DAGUPAN CITY — A former village chief was shot dead on Palm Sunday at his home in Bani town in Pangasinan province.

Conrado Huellas, 67, former chair of Barangay Colayo, was preparing for bed at about 9 p.m. when a shot rang out.

Believing it was a small explosion due to an electrical short circuit, Huellas’ wife Berlinda got out of bed to check and saw her husband bloodied and dead on their bed.

Police said the shooter might have fled to the forested area of the village.
