Quake jolts Batangas, Metro

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake with epicenter northwest of Tingloy, Batangas, was felt in neighboring provinces and as far as Metro Manila shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to the earthquake bulletin of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the quake struck at 8:58 p.m. Of tectonic origin with a depth of three kilometers, the quake was felt at intensity 4 in Makati City and Obando, Bulacan; intensity 3 in Mandaluyong City, Quezon City, and Sta. Ana in Manila, and General Trias and Dasmariñas in Cavite, and intensity 2 in Talisay, Batangas and Pasig City.
