The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a series of mild aftershocks after a magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck parts of Luzon on Tuesday night.
Seismologists recorded a magnitude 4.4 earthquake almost two hours after the earlier quake, which was located seven kilometers northwest of Tingloy, Batangas,
It was followed by a weaker magnitude 4 aftershock at 11:11 p.m.

Another tremor with 4.5 magnitude was felt at 11:13 p.m. three kilometers southeast of Balayan, Batangas.
The earthquake was felt at Intensity II in Tagaytay City and Intensity I in Lucban, Quezon.
The series of aftershocks sent residents in Luzon panicking, with some of them posting updates on social media.
In Batangas province, patients were evacuated from the Batangas Medical Center in Batangas City.
There were also reports of power outages in some villages in San Pascual town.
