BI appeals to DBM over overtime pay for its personnel

/ 07:51 PM April 04, 2017

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) appealed on Tuesday to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to reconsider its decision not to allow overtime pay of BI personnel to be paid from its express lane fund.

In a statement, BI Commissioner Jaime Morente urged the DBM to “revisit the historical precedents” in rethinking the veto on the use of express lane fees to pay for overtime hours.

He pointed out that all immigration employees are affected by the “drastic and abrupt” implementation of the decision to stop granting the honorarium from the said fund. /atm
