Cold front bringing rain on Sunday

Rain will be experienced in different parts of the country on Sunday, according to the state weather bureau.

In its 24-hour forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the tail-end of a cold front was affecting Southern Luzon, while easterlies were affecting the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao.

Pagasa said cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms would be experienced over the regions of Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula and Quezon province.

Cloudy skies with light rain were expected over the regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Ilocos and Central Luzon, it added.

Pagasa said Metro Manila and the rest of the country would experience cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Thunderstorms were also more likely to develop over the National Capital Region within 12 hours, it added.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the East to Northeast with slight to moderate seas,” Pagasa added. YG/rga
