Former Pangasinan vice mayor found dead in bedroom

DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan—The former vice mayor of Calasiao town in Pangasinan province was found dead in his bedroom on Saturday morning (April 1), apparently after suffering a stroke, according to Calasiao Mayor Joseph Arman Bauzon.

The remains of Ferdinand Galang, who resigned as Calasiao vice mayor in December last year, was found in a kneeling position by a family member in his house in Barangay (village) Mancup.

“It may have been too late to take him to a hospital when he was found,” said Bauzon by telephone, adding that police have ruled out suicide or foul play in Galang’s death.

Galang served as a three-term councilor in the town before he was elected vice mayor in 2004. After a nine-year political lull, he ran and won as vice mayor in the May 2016 elections, but he resigned, citing personal reasons.
