TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan—A police officer was relieved from duty at the Tuguegarao City police office on Friday (March 31) for punching an intern.

PO3 Vicente Lacambra struck Christian Bueno, a graduating criminology student serving as a police on-the-job trainee, for not heeding his instructions.

Lacambra brought Bueno to the police intelligence section and punched the trainee once more in the stomach. Other police officers pacified him.

Lacambra was furious after Bueno brought the policeman’s motorcycle for repairs to a classmate, who was a mechanic, instead of a repair shop as instructed.

Lacambra was removed from his post at the police intelligence unit here and was reassigned to far-flung Abulug town in the northernmost town in Cagayan./rga
