To avoid confusion among travelers during Holy Week, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has postponed the transfer of the temporary terminal for southwest provincial buses. The new terminal located at a lot owned by the MMDA on Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City, was supposed to be open on April 4. But MMDA officer in charge and general manager Tim Orbos said that while the infrastructure was already in place, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has yet to release its route modification plan for affected buses. On top of this, the transfer of the terminal from Parañaque City to Pasay may confuse people bound for Cavite and Batangas provinces during the Holy Week break, Orbos added. According to him, the transfer may be done as early as the week after Easter Sunday. The MMDA is expected to save at least P1.12 million in monthly rental fees with the transfer of the Southwest Integrated Provincial Transport Systems terminal to the lot beside HK Sun Plaza in Pasay City. —Jovic Yee
