DID YOU KNOW: Armando Ducat

/ 12:03 AM March 28, 2017

On March 28, 2007, daycare center owner and engineer Armando Ducat held 26 children and four teachers hostage for 10 hours inside a bus in Manila. He railed against poverty and corruption but later surrendered peacefully. Charges were filed against him by the Manila Police District but the parents of his victims demanded his release. In December 2008, Ducat was released on bail but in March 2009, his daycare center in Tondo closed down.  —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
