3 suspected sex traffickers nabbed in Lucena

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Police nabbed on Sunday three suspected sex traffickers, one of them a minor, in an entrapment operation in this city, police said Monday.

Reports said the Lucena police operatives nabbed the suspects “Eniong”, 22; “Rain”, 20; and “Dave”, 16, inside a fast food outlet in the city’s downtown area on Sunday around 8:30 p.m. Police said an undercover policeman pretended to be a client.

Investigations disclosed that the suspects have been pimping for four young girls, all aged 16.

Police said the suspects befriended the girls last month and enticed them to sell their bodies and earn money with them as pimps.

The adult suspects are detained at Lucena police jail while the minor was turned over to the local social welfare officer in accordance with the law on juvenile offenders.  SFM/rga
