Woman hacks to death husband’s lover in Quezon

LUCENA CITY, Quezon –A woman surrendered on Thursday and confessed that she hacked dead her husband’s alleged lover in a fit of jealousy in Lopez town in Quezon province, police report said Friday.

Chief Insp. Romulo Albacea, Lopez police chief, said suspect Justina Orfilla, 39, resident of Barangay (village) Del Rosario, voluntarily surrendered accompanied by two villagers at the Lopez police station around 8:30 a.m. and reported that she hacked dead a certain Jessa Borais inside the house of the victim in the same village on Wednesday midnight.

Albacea said investigators found the victim in crime scene with multiple hack wounds on the back portion of the head, nape and shoulder which caused her instantaneous death. Police found the blood-stained 20-inch long bolo that was used in the killing inside the suspect’s house.

“Based from our investigation, the husband sustained injuries on the head and face when she was also hacked by the suspect earlier inside their house. But he was able to run away from his furious wife,”
Albacea said in a phone interview. After hacking the husband, Orfilla went straight to the house of Borais to kill her, police said.

Police said during the investigation, the suspect showed no remorse for what she did.

“She’s composed but really angry. She told the investigators that she will kill the victim again should she survive,” Albacea said.

Albacea said the illicit relationship between the two lovers was a public knowledge in the village.

“All the parties involved were scheduled to meet at the barangay the next day to settle the relationship,” he said./rga
