Rain in Eastern Visayas, Caraga as LPA hovers near Surigao
Parts of Visayas and Mindanao will experience moderate to occasionally heavy rain due to a low pressure area (LPA) near Surigao del Sur, the state weather bureau said Monday.
“Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides is expected over Eastern Visayas and Caraga,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The Caraga Administrative Region includes Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Dinagat Islands.
The weather disturbance was last spotted 235 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, and it was unlikely to turn into a cyclone.
Bicol, Central Visayas and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.
