Husband-wife ‘drug team’ nabbed in Quezon buy-bust
LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Police arrested on Sunday a husband and his wife tagged as “notorious drug pusher” in a buy-bust operation in Calauag town in Quezon province, police said.
Chief Insp. Michael Encio, Calauag police chief, said operatives from the newly created police anti-illegal drug unit nabbed Olomodim Disuma and wife Maryrose, both former drug surrenderers, after the couple sold “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to an undercover policeman in Barangay (village) Bangkuruhan around 10:45 a.m.
Police seized four small plastic sachets of “shabu” ready for distribution worth P1,100.
Encio said the suspects were once arrested on drug charges but were allowed by the court to post bail.
“When we learned that they returned to drug pushing, we placed them under surveillance,” Encio said in a phone interview. He described the couple as “popular” among drug users in the locality. SFM/rga
