/ 06:37 AM November 04, 2011

A 13-year-old girl in Mandaue City reported to the police that her father raped her several times.

The girl first reported the alleged crime to her aunt after she stowed away last Oct. 22.

The aunt told police that she became suspicious when the girl refused to go home.

The aunt said she called the girl’s mother after the girl’s confession.

The girl was accompanied by her mother and her aunt to the police to report the ordeal.

Police yesterday filed rape charges in relation to child abuse against the father. They said they are waiting for the release of an arrest warrant before they could arrest the suspect.

The girl revealed that her father started raping her since she was 12 years old. She said her father would rape her every night.

The girl is the sixth of seven siblings. The family slept in one room.

The girl said there were times that she was raped when her mother was not yet home.

PO1 Girlee Nadera, of the women’s desk of the Subangdaku police station, said although they slept in one room, the mother may have failed to notice the rape because she was tired from her work.
