Remains of slain people’s doctor now in Aklan
ILOILO CITY — The remains of rural physician Dr. Dreyfuss Perlas, who was gunned down last Wednesday, arrived in Aklan province on Friday afternoon aboard a C-130 military transport plane.
The plane landed at 3:20 p.m. at the Kalibo International Aiport, where his relatives, including his mother Leovigilda Bolivar-Perlas, friends, and townmates were waiting.
His remains had been airlifted from the Pagadian City airport early in the afternoon.
Perlas’s father, Batan Councilor Dennis Perlas and his sister, Louella Perlas-Patricio, accompanied the remains of the slain physician.
Among those at the airport were Batan Mayor Rodel Ramos and other town officials.

Article continues after this advertisementAirport personnel and Kalibo residents lined up along the streets of the airport in anticipation of the arrival of Perlas’s remains.
From the airport, a six-vehicle convoy motored to Batan, about 49 kilometers southeast of the capital town of Kalibo.
Perlas, 31, municipal health officer of Sapad town in Lanao del Norte, was shot dead as he was driving his motorcyle at Kapatagan own Wednesday evening.
Police are still lookng for suspects and the motive of attack. /atm
