BALANGA CITY, Bataan—A 9-year-old boy eluded men wearing face masks who tried to drag him into a black van past 12 noon on Thursday (Mar, 3) in Mariveles town.

The Grade 3 pupil of the Townsite Elementary School in Barangay (village) Cabcaben was walking to school when a masked man alighted from an Urban Nissan van with no plate numbers and grabbed him.

But the boy fought back and fled to the school where his 45-year-old mother, Lelita Elimansil, was waiting, said Chief Insp. Ferdinand Aquilar, officer-in-charge of the Bataan police investigation and detective management branch.

Elimansil had brought the boy to school, but she allowed him to return home alone to fetch a tube of glue for a school project./rga
