COTABATO CITY — Two motorcycle-riding men shot and killed a police intelligence officer in M’lang, North Cotabato, on Monday morning.

Constantino Diazon, an officer of the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC), identified the victim as Police Officer 3 Lovel Tan, who was detailed with the M’lang municipal police office intelligence division.

Tan was taking his morning coffee in his rented room along Ponciano Street at 8 a.m. when two men arrived on board a motorbike. One of them barged inside Tan’s boarding house and shot him with a .45-pistol.

Diazon said the killing of Tan could be drug-related since he had been active in the campaign against illegal drugs in M’lang that led to the arrest of several drug-related personalities.  SFM/rga
