Court orders Ragos detained at NBI
MANILA — The Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court ordered on Monday the detention of former Bureau of Corrections officer in charge Rafael Ragos at the National Bureau of Investigation detention facility.
Ragos, also a former NBI deputy director, shall be under the supervision of the NBI Security Management Section, according to the commitment order issued by Branch 204 Judge Juanita Guerrero.
The co-accused of Sen. Leila de Lima in the drug trafficking case surrendered to the NBI on Sunday (Feb. 26).
He was brought by members of the NBI Special Operations Group to the Muntinlupa Hall of Justice on Monday for the return of the warrant of arrest. Ragos, however, did not step out of the vehicle.
Ragos’ counsel Jeffrey Creus said they filed a motion for reconsideration at the Department of Justice questioning his inclusion in the charge sheet when he had legislative immunity as a witness in a congressional hearing. SFM/rga
