BAGUIO CITY — Don’t expect chilly weather when the city celebrates the Panagbenga flower festival this weekend, weather experts said.
Aljon Tamondong, weather observer of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) station here, said the mercury rose to 14.2 degrees Monday morning and it would not get colder within the week.
It was warmer on Sunday when the temperature was at 15 degrees, a day after President Duterte attended the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Homecoming.
Tamondong said the weather forecast within the week was 14 degrees.
Thousands of tourists are expected to flock to the summer capital to watch street dancing and a float parade on Feb. 25 and 26, respectively.
Session Road, the city’s main thoroughfare, will be closed for one week from Feb. 27 to March 5 to allow local entrepreneurs to showcase their products. CBB/rga
