COPS’ RELIEF
A NAGA City policeman and policewoman will be relieved from their posts for having an illicit affair, said Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador, director of Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO).
Comendador said he will transfer the two to separate police precincts while they face an administrative complaint.
Comendador said the complaint against the two was lodged at the office of Chief Supt. Ager Ontog, director of Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7). Once the complaint is verified, the two will be investigated.
Comendador said he ordered the Provincial Investigation Detective Management Branch of CPPO to conduct its own investigation.
He said the complaint was very serious and could warrant the married policeman and single policewoman’s dismissal.
Comendador said they will check if the parties are in a relationship or the complaint was filed with malicious intent.
Senior Insp. Rolando Eballe, chief of Naga police precinct last Sunday told Cebu Daily News that he doesn’t want to comment about the issue because it’s personal.

KILLED WITH PIPE
A 35 year-old woman was struck to death with a 25-inch steel pipe in sitio Bintuan, barangay Talaga, Argao town, southeastern Cebu about 11 a.m. last Sunday.
Edwina Famat sustained severe head injuries which caused her immediate death.
Initial investigation showed that suspect Jimmy Bulabog and the victim had a heated argument. The suspect went home and came back armed with a steel pipe. The suspect allegedly struck the victim several times in the head until she got killed. Police are still pursuiing the suspect. CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
COP ARRESTED
A POLICEMAN assigned at Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) operation branch was arrested for firing at his girlfriend Sunday night in barangay Tinago, Cebu City.
PO2 Aaron Pescadero, however, was released after his girlfriend Angeline Tarazona Cebuco, an employee of the Cebu Catholic Television Network submitted an affidavit of desistance for not pursuing criminal charges against the policeman, said PO1 Robert Amascual, desk officer of Waterfront police station.
Initial investigation revealed that Cebuco and Pescadero had an argument after which Cebuco rode a Kia car owned by the police with Pescadero on a motorcycle tailing her. When they were at the National Statistics Office, Pescadero fired at Cebuco and missed. He then blocked the car, took his helmet and hit the girl. Mobile Patrol Group operatives PO3 Meodir Cabanero and PO2 Joel Leyson arrested Pescadero. Police officials will conduct an administrative investigation against Pescadero. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O.
