OAS, Albay — Government troops clashed with suspected communist rebels in Barangay (village) Nagas in this town Friday morning.
Brigadier General Claudio Yucot, commanding officer of Philippine Army’s 901st Infantry Brigade based at Barangay Villahermosa in Daraga town, said the clash started around 7:20 a.m. at Sitio Dawagan.
The firefight was still raging as of posting at 10:30 a.m., Friday.
Officials have yet to receive reports of any casualties from the incident. CBB/rga
