ISAFP intel officer, soldier killed in Marawi ambush

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Two military intelligence operatives, including a major, were killed in an ambush in Marawi City on Thursday evening, a military report said.

In a report by the Army’s 103rd Infantry Brigade based in Marawi, another soldier was wounded in the 6 p.m. incident in Lilud in Barangay Mandaya in Marawi City.

The report said elements of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces were on a Crosswind SUV and were to conduct intelligence operation when attacked by still unidentified armed men.

Instantly killed were a Major Mangalus and a Corporal Libot. The wounded soldier was identified as a Sergeant Cartilla. CBB
