WATCH: Turkey airstrikes strike IS positions in Syria
The Turkish military carried out a number of airstrikes targeting alleged Islamic State (IS) group positions, shelters and vehicles in northern Syria.
The military said Sunday’s airstrikes and ground operations targeted 174 Islamic State group positions.
Turkey claim they killed at least 42 Islamic State militants in the raids.
Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed opposition fighters are in a race to seize the town of al-Bab from the Islamic State group.
Turkey sent ground troops into northern Syria in August to support Syrian opposition forces in clearing a border area of IS militants and to prevent Syrian Kurds from making greater territorial advances.
