Ram Revilla murder case closed—police

MANILA, Philippines – Police has considered the murder case of Ramgen “Ram” Revilla, 23, as closed in a press conference in Parañaque City on Tuesday.

“We have identified all suspects and we have also performed inquest proceedings,” said Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran, chief of police of Paranaque City.

“We can say that the case is solved,” he said.

All seven suspects were identified including Ramon Joseph and Maria Ramona Bautista, siblings of the victim, who were believed to be the masterminds behind the killing. The others were identified as Michael Cruz Altia, Roy Francis Tolisora, Norwin Dela Cruz, and two others known only by their aliases “Glaiza” and “Bryan”.

Ramon Joseph, 18, the alleged mastermind of the crime was arrested earlier in the afternoon in Bacoor, Cavite after leaving from the wake of the victim, Beltran said.

Altia and Tolisoria, believed to be the ones who attacked Ram in the family-owned home along President’s Avenue in Paranaque, were also in the custody of Police.

Maria Ramona, Norwin, “Ryan” and “Glaiza” are still being hunted by the police.

All seven suspects face charges of murder and frustrated murder.

Ramon Joseph is believed to have paid P200,000 to hire hitmen to perpetrate the killing. One witness, Ruel Puzon, claimed he was supposed to be part of the plot but refused. He came forward to the police and revealed the details of the murder plot after being bothered by his conscience.

Police are still looking at the possible motives but they believe it is personal in nature.
