Revilla patriarch ‘in stable condition’ at St. Luke’s

SAN PEDRO, Philippines—A son of former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. confirmed that their father was rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Center Tuesday afternoon.

“I don”t know what really happened but I think he”s stable right now,” said the son, who refused to be named.

He said their father has been having a fever since Monday night, worsened by the arrest of their brother Ramon Joseph in Bacoor, Cavite.

Ramon Joseph was tagged as a suspect in the killing of Revilla’s son, actor Ramgen Bautista.

“We are so shocked with the turn-out of events,” the son said.

He said Ramon Joseph was on his way home with two other siblings when arrested by police in a highway along Bacoor, Cavite.

“He was crying but very calm,” he said of Ramon Joseph.

The source said they advised their brother to turn himself in to police and face the allegations in court.

“We don’t deny or admit anything. We don’t know what the police have (that implicated Ramon Joseph) but we trust that they are doing their job,” he said.

“All we want is justice for Ramgen,” he added.

Sources from the Parañaque police, as of press time, have declined to issue any statement on what could have motivated suspect Ramon Joseph to order the killing of Ramgen.
