Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II on Monday said the family of Sta. Isabel has been receiving death threats.

“The family have been receiving very serious threats. So, I talked to Jinky (Sta. Isabel’s wife) and asked her what kind of protection do they need,” Aguirre said.

Aguirre said he also instructed the NBI to look into how they will provide protection to Sta. Isabel’s family.

Sta. Isabel is facing a case for a special complex crime of kidnapping for ransom with homicide along with another police officer, a civilian and four John Does.

SP04 Roy Villegas identified Sta. Isabel as the one who strangled Jee the same day he was abducted last Oct. 18, 2016.

Sta. Isabel is under the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) after the Pampanga court issued a warrant for his arrest. RAM
