Moderate to occasionally heavy rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over the Bicol region and the province of northern Samar due to a low pressure area, the state weather bureau said on Sunday afternoon.

In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last plotted at 270 kilometers east southeast of Legazpi City, Albay.

Northeast monsoon is also affecting northern and Central Luzon, Pagasa said.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms is expected over the rest of Visayas and the provinces of Marinduque and Romblon, while Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the northeast to northwest over Visayas. The coastal waters over these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to northwest with slight to moderate seas,” Pagasa added.
