A low pressure area (LPA) that was formerly tropical depression “Auring” will continue to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol region, eastern Visayas, and the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, and Palawan, the weather bureau said on Wednesday.

In its 24-hour weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last plotted at 165 kilometers south of Puerto Princesa in Palawan. Northeast monsoon is also affecting northern and central Luzon, it added.

Pagasa said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will also persist over the Caraga region and the rest of MIMAROPA and Visayas.

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon will also experience cloudy skies with light rains, while the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will also prevail over the rest of Mindanao, Pagasa added.

Two Cebu Pacific flights have been cancelled due to bad weather: 5J 321 Manila to Legazpi and 5J 322 Legazpi to Manila. Classes in Albay from preschool to high school have also been suspended due to continuous rains. CDG
