Albay classes suspended due to non-stop rain

LEGAZPI CITY – Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara suspended on Wednesday all classes from pre-school to high school in public and private schools in the province due to continuous rain over the past few days.

Cedric Daep, head of Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office, said the order was due to the threat of flooding and landslides.

“We are warning everyone to refrain from crossing rivers and landslide prone areas for public safety,” he said.

Ariel Zamudio of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Legazpi said the continuous moderate to heavy rain was being caused by wind convergence. CBB
