A mom’s appeal: help my 6-year-old girl get better
As a baby, Angeline Reyes was prone to episodes of high-grade fever, sometimes reaching up to 40 degrees.
Angeline was later diagnosed with acute tonsillopharyngitis, a condition characterized by an infection of the throat or tonsils or both. Symptoms may include fever, sore throat, and pain when swallowing while the tonsils are red and inflamed.
“Doctors suggested that she be operated on immediately but I opposed the idea because she was still a baby,” Luzviminda Reyes, her 41-year-old mother, said.
Angeline is now 6 years old. Through regular checkups at Philippine Children’s Medical Center, doctors have found out that her condition has worsened.
Due to overmedication for her frequent high fever episodes, her teeth were affected, causing their decay.
