12 houses gutted by fire in CDO

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Twelve houses were gutted by fire in Barangay Tablon here on Thursday, the Bureau of Fire Protection-10 (BFP-10) said.

The BFP, in a report, said the fire started at the kitchen of the house owned by a certain Gemma Dusdos around 1:30 p.m. and rapidly spread to neighboring houses, mainly made of light materials.

No one was harmed though.

“Probably someone was cooking or had lit a fire in the kitchen and failed to attend to it,” Noli dela Rita, the BFP-10 spokesperson later said by phone.

Dela Rita said the damage was placed at P600,000.

The fire victims were already given initial aid by the city social welfare office.  SFM
