Drug suspect killed in Antipolo buy-bust
SAN PEDRO CITY—A man tagged as an illegal drug pusher was killed during a buy-bust operation in Antipolo City in Rizal province late on Wednesday, police said Thursday.
A report from the Rizal provincial police office said suspect Jovan Longabella alias “Haji” was slain in an illegal drug buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Mayamot around 10:30 pm.
During the transaction with an undercover policeman, another cop, Police Officer 2 Mark Anthony Aguilar, emerged from hiding. This made Longabella “grow suspicious,” police said.
Longabella fired his gun as he ran away but the policemen returned fire and killed him instantly.
Police said they recovered three sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu”, a revolver and a motorcycle from the slain suspect. RAM/rga
