MANILA, Philippines — A shallow low pressure area was seen east of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Monday.

The SLPA was seen 560 kilometers east of Mindanao embedded along the intertropical convergence zone affecting Visayas and Mindanao, with the wind convergence affecting northern and eastern Luzon, it said.

Northern and eastern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, it added.
