DID YOU KNOW: Holiday Hazards Prevention Month

December is Holiday Hazards Prevention Month under Proclamation No. 115-A signed in 1966 by then President Ferdinand Marcos. While welcoming 2016 last year, at least four fires broke out reportedly due to firecrackers in Metro Manila. About 1,000 houses in Barangays 155 and 160 in Tondo, Manila, were hit by a fire caused by a wayward firecracker during the first hours of 2016. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
