3 killed in Quezon road accidents

LUCENA CITY—Three persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Quezon province on Saturday, police said Sunday.

In Tiaong town, motorcyclist Alberto Gonzales, 35, and his wife Luzviminda Gonzalez, 32, were accidentally ran over by a cargo truck traveling along the diversion road in Barangay (village) Lumingon around 9:30 p.m.

Report from Quezon police headquarters said the victims’ motorcycle suddenly stopped to allow the overtaking cargo truck being driven by Ronell Berana to pass, but the motorbike skidded and overturned causing the truck to run over the victims. Both victims died on the spot.

The truck driver personally reported the incident at the police station and voluntarily surrendered.

In Sariaya town, Julia Anne Jael, 6, was accidentally hit by a van being driven by Jayson Alcala in Barangay Poblacion 3 around 8:45 a.m.

Report said the victim, a “special child,” suddenly crossed the street when she was hit by the passing vehicle. RAM
