LEGAZPI CITY—The entire province of Albay is now under a state of imminent danger due to severe Tropical Storm “Nina” (international name: Nock-ten), which is expected to make a landfall in the Bicol region on Christmas Day.

Vice Governor Harold Imperial said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed resolution number 254-2016 entitled “Declaring the entire province of Albay under Imminent Disaster Due to Typhoon Nina” to allow all local government units to utilize their funds in pre-emptive evacuation and pre-disaster operation.
“Their calamity fund will now be utilized for evacuation, preparation, stock piling, and all the pre-emptive actions,” he said.

Imperial said aside from the individual funds of 18 towns and three cities, the province still has at least P23 million calamity fund. RAM/rga
