Leave your arms and come down.
This was the message of President Rodrigo Duterte to members of the New People’s Army (NPA) as he urged the rebels to celebrate Christmas Day with their families.
“I would like you to come down and visit your family on Christmas Day,” Duterte said during the 81st anniversary celebration of the Armed Forces of the Philippines at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
The President said the unilateral ceasefire stands, saying the rebels won’t be arrested when they come down from the mountains.
“Come down. You will not be arrested,” he said.
Despite soft stance on NPAs, Duterte warned criminals and terrorists that his bloody crackdown on them would continue. RAM
