CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela – A 57-year-old man was found dead in Divilacan town on Saturday morning, five days after his boat sank in the Dicambangan river.

Makling Roscal, a Dumagat, was declared missing on Dec. 13, when an outrigger boat capsized due to strong currents, throwing off Roscal and six other passengers, said Senior Supt. Leon Rafael, Isabela police director.

The passengers were able to swim to shore but Roscal was seen being carried away by the current.

Divilacan rescue and retrieval teams were deployed. After five days of searching, they found Roscal’s floating body near Dicatian, one of the coastal villages in Divilacan. JE/rga
