MANILA — The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) reminded the country’s telecommunications service providers to comply with a series of orders to ensure continued services during the upcoming year-end holidays.

Specifically, the memorandum order dated early this month indicated that “all” service offerings, including internet and broadband access, shall not exclude Dec. 25, 2016 and Jan. 1, 2017.

Moreover, telcos should conduct all necessary network adjustments “to ensure that the networks are ready to accommodate the expected increase in traffic during the Christmas and New Year season.”

Then NTC also ordered the telcos to deploy sufficient operations and maintenance personnel, and equipment, for “99.99 percent network availability and reliability.”  SFM/rga
