Rains to prevail over Luzon due to LPA

(UPDATE) Rains are expected to prevail in various parts of Luzon on Tuesday due to the low pressure area in the vicinity of Batangas, the state weather bureau said.

In its 24-hour weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Quezon, Rizal and Laguna.

At 11 a.m., Pagasa said the LPA, which was last spotted within the vicinity of San Juan in Batangas, will bring cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Calabarzon.

At 12 noon, Pagasa also raised a yellow rainfall warning over Bulacan, Rizal and Quezon and warned of flooding in low-lying areas.

Light to moderate rains will also prevail over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Bicol Region and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, northern Palawan, Cagayan and Isabela.

Cloudy skies with light rains is expected over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao. TVJ
