The Commission on Elections (Comelec) urged as appealed to the public to participate in the ongoing voters’ registration for the 2017 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls especially during the holidays.
Comelec chairperson Andres Bautista explained that the voters’ registration will run even during the Christmas vacation.
“The Christmas break would be a good chance to register, especially for those who will be coming home to the province. The electoral process necessitates that you can only vote in your locality if you are registered as a voter there,” he said.
The voters’ registration for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls resumed last November 7 and will run until April 29, 2017.
